Training Dates

  • January 23, 2026: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • January 24, 2026: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Registration Requirements

  • Pre-registration is required; no on-site registration is allowed.
  • Registration must be completed online by the deadline.
  • All required fields must be completed for admission.
Space is Limited! 
  • Participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If the session is full, you may register for a future training.
  • A confirmation email will be sent once the class is officially confirmed.
  • If fewer than 20 participants are registered, the session may be canceled.
  • If registrations exceed capacity, overflow registrants will be moved to the next available session.

  • Returned checks will incur an additional $30 fee.

Refunds & Transfers

If the session does not meet minimum enrollment:

  • full refund will be issued.
  • Participants must register for a future session.

If the session meets minimum enrollment and you cannot attend:

  • Cancellations made 7 or more days before the event will receive a full refund through the MSRT registration page.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are not refundable.

    • Consideration may be given for extenuating circumstances to transfer into a later session (Note: You must contact the coordinator).

Mississippi Requirements for Limited X-ray Machine Operators

Approved by the Mississippi State Board of Health's Radiation Advisory Council (RAC), this 12-hour course fulfills Mississippi’s initial training requirement for operators of x-ray equipment who are not ARRT certified.

State regulations require:

  • 12 hours of initial education, and
  • 12 hours of continuing education every two years

Course Instructors

Sessions are taught by experienced, ARRT-registered Radiologic Technologists from the local area who have specialized training in delivering this content.

I.   Radiation Protection – 6 Hours

  • Biologic Damage Potential
  • Patient Protection
  • Personal Protection

    II.  Medical Imaging – 3 Hours

    • Production of Radiation
    • Prime Factors of the X-Ray Beam
    • Control of Scatter Radiation
    • Exposure Systems

    III. Radiographic Positioning – 3 Hours

    • Standard Terminology
    • General Considerations
    • Positioning Considerations
    • Proper Positioning

    Total Course Hours: 12

    Certificates

    • Non-ARRT attendees will receive a certificate documenting completion of the 12-hour educational session.
    • Certificates are issued only after payment is received.
    • The MSRT maintains attendance records for three years.

    Permit Applications

    Permit applications for Limited X-Ray Machine Operators must be submitted to the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure through the MSBML Gateway system.


    Note: This permit application process does not apply to Chiropractic or Dental settings.
